Installation of officers will take place on our regular meeting day, Sunday, January 27, 2019, 4:00 PM at Morning Dawn Lodge #7 in Gallipolis, Ohio. Master Councilor-elect PMC Ethan Browning is from Gallia County and has chosen to have his installation there. Light refreshments will be served after.

Welcome to Tri Rivers Chapter, Order of DeMolay.  We were instituted on October 17, 2015.  Our primary sponsor is Paramuthia Lodge #25 in Athens.  We are additionally sponsored by the lodges of the 17th Masonic District of Ohio.  The 17th is comprised of Athens, Morgan and Washington Counties within which are three major rivers, the Ohio, Muskingum and Hocking, hence the name Tri Rivers.  This area was formerly served by several chapters, Athens, Marietta, Malta and Stockport.

DeMolay was founded in 1919 and is open to young men between the ages of 12 and 21.

The Order of DeMolay is founded on the seven cardinal virtues of filial love, reverence for sacred things, courtesy, comradeship, fidelity, cleanness and patriotism which are described in the initiatory degree and the fidelity of Jacques DeMolay which is illustrated in the DeMolay degree.  Jacques DeMolay was the last Grand Master of Knights Templar in France on Black Friday in 1307.  He and many other Templars were rounded up, thrown into prison and tortured by the Inquisition to reveal their secrets, treasure and property along with other members.  Jacques DeMolay was eventually burned at the stake for refusing to reveal the secrets of the Templar order.
